Mattersight recently announced one of our newest patents, Trend identification and behavioral analytics systems and methods, which provides a machine learning-based framework for the real time analysis of data trends that are impacting organizations.
By scanning a stream of numerous interactions and data types – phone, social media, etc. – trends are identified without the need to reference a library of pre-defined terms. These trending terms are then displayed to a user along with information that provides greater detail into the terms and can generate alerts.
Traditionally, efforts to track and identify emerging topics include manual processes which require an individual to know what they are looking for. With the power of trending topics lying in the ability to identify and respond to them in a timely manner, these methods are inefficient and can be less effective.
Organizations today have unprecedented access to enormous and often complex sets of data. This solution gives them the ability to confidently identify and track the emerging trends or topics that are affecting the customer experience and may otherwise be lost in data streams.
In addition to the trend identification patent, we were also just awarded our 40th patent, Online classroom analytics system and methods, which is designed to help online instructors better assist students by allowing them to predict the likelihood of a student outcome based on the analysis.
This is an exciting milestone for us and further illustrates our commitment to harnessing the latest in tech and innovation to find new ways to improve experiences and outcomes across industries. Thanks to everyone in the Mattersight family who made these patents possible!
